Zombtastic evening at Bloor Cinema - Fido
|
"Fido", the boy-and-his-dog zombedy, is hitting Canadian Theatres today, March 16, 2007, but Bloor Cinema in Toronto had a special event last night (tonight I guess, only 1 am), and a couple 100 zombie fans got to quench their thirst first. So it was zombtastic and dorktastic, with people dressed up as zombies and some guy from Facebook doing a little dance on stage... (I thought "Thriller")
Fido was a great movie, with Lassie references that will make you laugh, and that "crazy, wonderful zombie” played by Billy Connolly. Andrew Currie's Fido is a cross between genres, a sort of family movie à la 50s that failed to be, you know, because of all the zombies... and the zombie killing... and the platonic love between Fido and Timmy's (K'Sun Ray) mother (Carrie-Ann Moss), which provide some of the best comedic moments of the movie.
In short, this movie is zomedy galore at it's best. Bit of gore, lots of comedy, and if you think you heard me say that this movie will probably end up with a following, I can confirm: you heard me right.
Fido Hits Canadian theaters today, March 16, and will hit U.S. theaters June 15.
