What we are looking for are writers that will respect the readers, respect the industry and help the site grow. We are interested in all aspects of horror: art, fiction, news, poetry, games, and so forth. Our expectation:

1. For horror news, a minimum of 250 words.

Another remake is in store for yet another cult classic: Cannibal Holocaust. Relevant Entertainment has acquired the rights to the Ruggero Deodato's classic horror flick. It will be interesting to see how this works out. The original has been banned for over 20 years in a dozen countries on the basis of its violence and gore. The movies tells the story of a professor retracing the steps of a film crew in South America, which disappeared while shooting a documentary about reputed cannibal tribes. He discover reels of undeveloped film showing how the eventually met their maker after messing with the cannibals. With today's political correctness, we can expect that no turtles will be harmed in the remake, but I hope that they won't tame it down. There was something raw about Cannibal Holocaust, an unperverted violence that puts it in my top 20 of all times.

Interesting. My bet is it's going to be a tamed down version for sure. No one is going to do any real animal torture for a film. Not without consequences anyway.

I'll be interested to see this, but I'm sure not holding out for anything as or more shocking than the original (which sort of makes it seem more pointless than most remakes). Sidenote...my sig other is using the original in his Monsters in Film class this semester...we can't wait to see the students reactions! (Remember these aren't horror fans, none of them have even heard of it) :)
