WARNING! VERY GRAPHICALLY GRUESOME PICTURES OF THIS CRIME SCENE AND MORGUE PHOTOS MAY BE INCLUDED WITH THIS POST! This is about one of the biggest unsolved crimes of the 20th century. Elizabeth Short, aka, the Black Dahlia, was tortured and murdered in a very horribly vicious manner....her killer was never caught. Found in an abandoned lot by a mother and her 3 year old daughter while they were on their way to do some daily errands...it was a horrible scene to behold. Elizabeth's body had been severed in half and her face and body horribly mutilated. The murderer had slit her face from both corners of her mouth giving her face the appearance of a demented clown. Her hair had been hacked off and shoved into her rectum, and parts of her vaginal area ripped and sliced off and forced into her vagina. Her breasts had been sliced, nipples removed. Elizabeth was a rather pretty woman with aspirations towards Hollywood stardom...and men lusted after her pale skin, jet black hair, and curvaceous endowments. Elizabeth was something of a gold digger, and played a dangerous game with the men who she would charm. She liked to tempt and tease them so they would give her money, buy her pretty things, and do most anything she desired...all in the promise of sex. While Elizabeth was free with the oral sex....she never actually engaged in intercourse during the course of her life. There was a reason for this....when the autopsy was preformed on her body... it was found that Miss Short could NOT have intercourse due to the fact she had a malformed vagina. It never matured past the stage of a 3-4 year old girl. This was a fact she apparently kept from her many suitors. That one fateful night ended her dreams for stardom, and her coy little games forever. When the police were summoned, they found the body drained of blood and washed clean with the intestines tucked neatly under her buttocks...indicating she was killed elsewhere. Ligature marks on her wrists and ankles showed that she'd been restrained, and since the hips were in a somewhat bent position it showed she'd been restrained in a semi-sitting position. Further autopsy reports showed that while she may have been unconscious due to loss of blood...she WAS alive when her killer sliced her body very neatly in half. To this day...many speculations remain as to who her killer was....but they are only that. This case still remains open 60 years later. Author BIOS I am a student at Florida Metropolitan University and my course of study is Forensic Sciences/Crime Scene Investigations. In the course of study we delve into many unsolved, as well as some of the solved, crimes and are required to study the crime scene and morgue photos, as well as the autopsy reports. After graduation, I will pursue a career delving into those cases that are unusual in their aspects by virtue of their "paranormal" aspects.
